Emily was lying on her back on the sofa, her head hanging over the side, rotating her perception of reality. The lights shone from the ground and the television was hanging from the ceiling. Her head began to ache.

Before her, Emily’s parents hung. Their shoes gripped the carpeted roof as they had a ‘marital debate’; it was only a debate after all, they weren’t fighting. Daddy yelled and Mummy screamed, and the nice vase from Nanna hit the ceiling, shattering into the carpet clouds. Emily wouldn’t be able to walk with bare feet for a while until Mummy vacuumed. Her head pounded.

Mummy stomped her foot and Emily quietly giggled. It looked funny, stomping upwards. Emily silently hoped one of them would jump. That would look really strange.

It was all just a game. How could it not be? They were smiling. Her head pulsed. Emily was frowning.
Just a story I came up with for the writing club I'm in. It had to be 150 words.
